Happy Earth Month!

The one word that I would use to describe Oakencroft is: “Sanctuary” – a place that nurtures, calms, and uplifts  –  plants, animals, and people alike.

Nature is our highest priority and our guiding light, whether it be through our sustainable practices, our regeneration of the land, our respect for animals, our inspiring spaces, or our intentional products. We strive to help all living things to flourish and thrive by making our soil richer, our air and water cleaner, and our wine, food, and surrounding environment healthier. By lifting up the Natural World, we lift up ourselves and create a pathway for our children and grandchildren to have a better future.

What will strike you most about this place is its beauty. The abundance of wildlife and trees, nearby mountain views, singing birds, a lake that reflects the sky, all fill this place with peace and tranquility.  When you visit, you will be transported from your everyday life to a place that nourishes your soul.

Oakencroft is also a place where you can explore, create, and connect with others. We don’t want you to think of us as just a winery, we hope that you’ll learn about healthy land management, join our guided farm and birding walks, play some fun games, do some art, or explore some meditative practices. When we are surrounded by the beauty of nature, learning and trying something new, and engaging in meaningful conversations, we cannot help but leave our cares behind and become more hopeful and inspired.

This place is not simply a farm and it is not simply a vineyard – it is a living ecosystem where all aspects of the property provide an important and holistic contribution. What we do here is unique but it’s not the only important thing. We also care deeply about what you (and our wildlife residents) experience while spending time here.

Our hope is that you feel peace, joy, insight, and rejuvenation. We look forward to welcoming you! – Dorothy Batten
