The Tasting Room

Oakencroft’s Tasting Room offers a serene, inviting setting and is the perfect private event venue in Charlottesville, Virginia. Bookings include exclusive access to the indoor tasting room and our covered patio, with heaters and fans available to ensure comfort in any season.

Our Virginia winery event space is well-suited for cocktail parties, seated dinners, social gatherings, corporate events, board meetings, and presentations with a strong food and beverage focus. A large screen supports slideshows and videos, and a microphone is integrated with the house sound system.

Capacity is approximately 60 for a formal seated dinner indoors, or up to 150 for a cocktail-style event across the tasting room and patio.

The Patio

With plenty of seating, an outdoor bar, and sweeping views of the lake and vineyard, our covered patio event space in Charlottesville, Virginia offers an ideal setting for private gatherings of all kinds. As one of the most flexible outdoor venues in Virginia, our patio allows guests to relax and enjoy the natural breeze, which is almost always present thanks to our vineyard’s unique location. The Renson pergola opens and closes depending on the weather, we offer heaters for the cooler months, and fans for the warmer months - so you’ll never need to worry about inclement weather. All private event bookings include access to the patio event space where your guests can relax and enjoy the breeze, which is almost ever-present.  

Booking Your Event

Our Tasting Room is available for the following events:
  • Holiday and cocktail parties
  • Seated Luncheons and other daytime social events
  • Formal Seated Dinner Parties
  • Corporate events
  • Presentations where food and beverages are served 

Venue Fee ranges between $3,500 - $5,500 but depends on event duration, concept, guest count, and day of the week. Catering is not included in the venue fee. 

We offer a nonprofit discount to community organizations. 
Please note that we do not host weddings, of any size.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We do host rehearsal dinners, but we do not host weddings of any size. 
  • Our Tasting Room comfortably fits up to 125 guests for a cocktail hour or standing event. Seated dinners max out around 65 guests.
  • Our Patio comfortably fits up to 65-70 guests and is heated with portable tower heaters in the shoulder months and cooled with fans in the warmer months.
  • No amplified music is allowed on Oakencroft premises.
  • No outside food is allowed.
  • We will work with you to find the right caterer for your style and budget, but highly recommend our in-house catering partner, especially on days that we are open to the public.
  • For events on other days of the week, you must work with an approved full-service caterer from our preferred vendors list.
  • All outside rentals and transportation must be serviced by a vendor on our preferred partners list.
  • Private Events that occur on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays may begin at 6 pm or later. If you would like to begin earlier than that, we may be able to offer that with an early-closure fee, depending on the season. 
  • We offer a semi-private package during normal business hours in The Fox Den. Please inquire for more information.
